The Central Alabama Sport Flyers is a Model Aircraft Radio Control club chartered by the Academy of Model Aeronautics. You can see our AMA charter by clicking here.
Our club was founded in 1994, with an average membership of around 40. Our runway is 120 feet wide by 1000 feet long. We have two large pavilions and one small one, all with power outlets. Our clubhouse has full bathrooms and shower facilities, and air conditioning/heating.
We also enjoy working with the local community by inviting them out to our events to watch, and have hosted some Ukrainian orphans who recently arrived in the US for a hot dog cookout and to build small gliders in the past. We love sharing our passion for flying with the local community and try and give back as often as possible.
We have a wide range of modelers that fly everything from small foam to giant scale models. We welcome anyone who shares our passion for model aviation and enjoy the company of fellow modelers no matter if you are new to the hobby or a seasoned flyer you are welcome at our club.
